European CV registrations fall for 14th month in a row

Figures for CV registrations in Europe, released by ACEA, show that they fell by 13.3 per cent in February and were down -11.9 per cent over the first two months, year on year. February was the fourteenth consecutive month that demand for commercial vehicles in the EU was down.

The decline affected all vehicle segments in a similar way. Looking at the major markets, France (-12.3 per cent), Germany (-14.4 per cent), Spain (-19.5 per cent) and Italy (-31.3 per cent) all faced a downturn. The UK, thanks to positive results in the van segment, was the only one to post growth (+4.2 per cent). In total, 109,331 new vehicles were registered in the month.
